Accessibility - Is my content available to everyone?

Inclusion is important. You need to ensure that everyone can access your content.

As part of your Health Check, we use WebAIM’s WAVE service to check your rendered content for common accessibility and WCAG errors. We roll this up into a summary, highlighting the types of errors at both page and site level.

Note: the WAVE service needs to access HTML at external urls.

Quality - How likely are my audience to understand what I’m saying?

There’s much more to quality than a reading grade. We’ll give you a range of insights into how likely you audience, and search engines, are to understand what you’ve written.

Readability scores

We give you 6, including Flesch-Kincaid Grade, Flesch Reading Ease and a locale-specific Dale-Chall.

Formality

We calculate a formality score for your content so you can see if you’re being consistent and just where on the informal-formal scale your content sits.

Spellcheck

We do a basic spellcheck, highlighting any words that may need a further look. This is really a safety-check.

Style

Inspired by the Australian Government’s Style Manual, we run a few basic style checks on your content such as passive voice and simpler alternatives.

Complexity

We use a couple of metrics to measure how consistent your word use is. The more consistent you are, the easier it is to read.

Sentiment

We measure the subjectivity and polarity of your content. How positive are you? How much opinion does your content contain?

Discoverability - How easy is it for my audience to find answers to their questions?

Discoverability is about finding answers and sharing it. The answer needs to exist in just one place. It needs to be connected to supporting content. And it needs to stand out in a search engine result or a social share. Our insights will help you assess just how easy those answers are to find.

Metadata

We check your OpenGraph metadata for an optimal search engine listing and social media share.

Duplicates and near-duplicates

We calculate the similarity across your content to help you find items that are saying the same thing.

Isolates

We look for items that have no links to other items. These are hard for your audience to find, especially on smaller screens with hidden navigation.
